Year 10 Membantu Bali Mission Trip

Nambucca Valley Christian Community School students joined with Coffs Harbour Christian Community School students on the 2019 Membantu Bali Mission Trip.

The 2020 Mission Trip was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Since 1999, Coffs Harbour Christian Community School has been supporting a number of children's homes in Bali. Almost two hundred CCS students have travelled to Bali in order to support others who are in great need. Over the years a number of projects have been undertaken and completed to improve the quality of life for Balinese children from backgrounds of severe poverty.

Nambucca Valley Christian Community School is collaborating with Coffs Harbour Christian Community School and the Bali Protestant Church who care for and educate over six hundred children and youth from throughout Indonesia.

The Membantu Bali Mission Trip aims to challenge and equip our Year 10 students for Christian service. Students will be provided with an opportunity to experience the culture of our closest neighbour, Indonesia, while supporting the Bali Protestant Church in their care and education of poor and vulnerable children.

There are a number of fundraising initiatives coming up over the next two months to support the work of the Membantu Fund, which are being organised by our Year 10 students.

Membantu Development Fund - Membantu Bali

The word ‘Membantu’ is the Indonesian verb for ‘helping’. This word best describes our mission and purpose. For us, ‘helping’ is the heart of all the work we do in Bali through a variety of local Balinese agencies.

The Membantu Development Fund, recognised as “Membantu Bali”, is an Australian-based overseas aid organisation that has Indonesia as its primary focus, and in particular Bali.

Membantu Bali is dedicated to providing real support to the people of Bali by genuine acts of service and by funding projects that address important needs, including:

• Food security
• Safe and adequate water supply
• Primary health care
• Education
• Essential infrastructure works at children's homes and schools
• Transport and communications for children's homes and local communities

Simple everyday items that we take for granted such as basic medicines, first aid supplies and sanitary products are often in short supply in poor communities and children's homes in Bali. Through Membantu Bali we are able to provide ongoing support for these basic human needs.
