Governance & Leadership

Jo Carey

Acting Principal

Jo Carey has been a member of the NVCCS community since 2016. Having initially joined the school as a classroom teacher, Jo's leadership journey saw her serve as K-2 Coordinator in 2019, before being appointed Head of Primary in 2022. She holds formal academic qualifications in Primary Teaching and Learning and brings a wealth of experience to her role as Acting Principal.

Jo prioritises faithfulness and reliability in all aspects of life and learning. She advocates for a culture of high expectations that fosters a genuine joy in discovery and the confidence that comes from growth. In this environment, students are recognised for their inherent worth as individuals rather than just their academic output, encouraging them to shift their focus toward their growing capability and the development of their unique gifts.

As Acting Principal, Jo remains dedicated to fostering a secure, grace-filled environment where mistakes do not define a student but are embraced as essential learning opportunities for restoration and personal responsibility. She continues to serve the NVCCS community wholeheartedly, working in partnership with parents to ensure every child is supported to develop using the unique gifts and abilities they possess.

The school embraces families representing the breadth of Christian churches and cultures within the valley.  All staff are devoted, qualified and committed Christians. Our school strives for excellence and wholeness in every aspect of life and learning. Parents, teachers and churches work together in community to support and encourage children to grow in their potential for God. Community involvement is high on our agenda and opportunities are provided for active participation and service, outside of the school. We are excited about our school and the impact that we are seeing in our children and in the wider community.
